Gauhati High Court Law Clerk Selection Procedure:

The selection process for the Law Clerk positions at Gauhati High Court consists of two stages:

Stage 1: Written Examination

The written examination is conducted in an objective type multiple-choice format.

It carries a total of 120 marks and lasts for 2 hours.

The examination assesses English Proficiency (30 marks), General Knowledge (10 marks), General Aptitude (10 marks), knowledge in Law (50 marks), and knowledge of the Assamese language (20 marks).

Stage 2: Viva Voce/Interview

Candidates who qualify Stage 1 are eligible to proceed to Stage 2.

The viva voce/interview is conducted for 30 marks.

Candidates are shortlisted in a ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates for 1 post) based on their performance in the written examination.

To qualify, a candidate must score at least 18 marks (i.e., 60% marks) in the interview.
