IFSCA Officer Grade A Important Dates:

IFSCA Officer Grade A Reservation and Age Relaxation:

Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST):

Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are eligible for a maximum age relaxation of up to five years if the posts are reserved for them.

Other Backward Classes (OBC):

OBC candidates can avail a maximum age relaxation of up to three years if the posts are reserved for them. However, only candidates belonging to the 'Non-Creamy Layer' (NCL) are eligible to apply under the OBC category. Those in the 'Creamy Layer' should indicate their category as 'Unreserved.'

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD):

  • PwBD candidates are entitled to age relaxation of 10 years, irrespective of whether the post is reserved or not.
  • For PwBD (OBC) candidates, age relaxation of 13 years is applicable where vacancies are reserved for OBC candidates.
  • PwBD (SC/ST) candidates are eligible for age relaxation of 15 years where vacancies are reserved for SC/ST candidates.

Cumulative Age Relaxation:

Candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC, and covered under the category of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are eligible for cumulative age relaxation.

Ex-Servicemen:

Ex-Servicemen, including Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers, are eligible for a relaxation of five years.

Maximum Age Limit:

The maximum age limit for candidates applying for the Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) position is 30 years as of February 1, 2024.

 

IFSCA Officer Grade A Educational Qualification: 

Candidates applying for the Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) position at IFSCA must meet the following educational qualifications:

General Stream:

  • Master’s Degree with specialization in Statistics, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration (Finance), or Econometrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Master’s in Computer Application/Information Technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with pursuing qualifications such as CA, CFA, CS, and ICWA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or any other recognized discipline from a reputed University.

Legal Stream:

Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University/Institute.

Note:

  • A Post Graduate Diploma in any discipline will be acceptable as an educational requirement for the General Stream, provided it is recognized as equivalent to a Master’s Degree by the Government of India.
  • Candidates are responsible for providing necessary documents to prove equivalence if they possess a Post Graduate Diploma.

 

IFSCA Officer Grade A Salary and Benefits:

Selected candidates will undergo a probation period of two years with a pay scale of Rs. 44,500 - Rs. 1,43,000 per month, along with various benefits including leave fare concession, medical expenses, and more.

IFSCA Officer Grade A Selection Procedure: 

The selection process for the Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) position at IFSCA involves multiple stages to ensure the recruitment of qualified and competent candidates:

Phase I Online Examination:

  • The Phase I Online Examination is tentatively scheduled to be held in May/June 2024.
  • It consists of objective-type questions covering subjects such as English, IFSCA Act, Union Budget, Economic Survey, Banking, Capital Market, Insurance, Pension Funds, Bullion, GIFT City, GIFT IFSC, IFSCA, Global Financial Centres, etc.
  • Negative marking of 1/4th of marks assigned to the question is applicable for incorrect answers.
  • There will be a cut-off of minimum 30% for Paper 1 and a cut-off of minimum 40% for Paper 2. Candidates need to secure separate cut-offs in each paper as well as an aggregate cut-off of 40% to qualify for Phase II.

Phase II Online Examination:

Phase II Online Examination is scheduled to be held in June/July 2024.

It comprises two papers:

  • Paper 1 (Common for both streams): Descriptive test on English, including precis writing, essay writing, and comprehension.
  • Paper 2: Multiple choice questions on specialized subjects related to the respective streams.
  • Negative marking is applicable for incorrect answers.
  • Candidates must secure separate cut-offs in each paper as well as an aggregate cut-off of 40% to qualify for Phase III.

Interview (Phase III):

  • Only shortlisted candidates from Phase II will be called for an interview.
  • The weightage of marks obtained in Phase II will be 85%, while marks obtained in the interview will have a weightage of 15%.
  • The final cut-off marks for calling candidates for the interview will be decided by the Competent Authority based on the number of vacancies.
  • Application fee will not be refunded to candidates not shortlisted for Phase II and the interview.
