• Category-1: JRF and Assistant Professor: If you qualify under this category, you're eligible for both the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and appointment as an Assistant Professor.
• Category-2: Assistant Professor and Ph.D. Admission: Successful candidates in this category can be appointed as Assistant Professors and are eligible for admission to Ph.D. programs. However, they won't receive the JRF.
• Category-3: Ph.D. Admission only: Those falling into this category are eligible solely for admission to Ph.D. programs. They do not qualify for the JRF or appointment as Assistant Professors.

The eligibility determination is based on your performance in the exam, and for Category-2 and Category-3 candidates, interviews or viva voce play a significant role.

Additionally, for Category-2 and Category-3 candidates, the marks obtained in the UGC-NET hold 70% weightage, while the interview/viva voce performance holds 30% weightage. Admission to Ph.D. programs is based on the combined merit of UGC-NET marks and interview/viva voce performance.

UGC NET June 2024 Examination Scheme

If you're gearing up for the UGC-NET June 2024 exam, here's what you need to know about its format and guidelines:

Mode of Examination: The exam will be conducted in OMR Based mode, meaning you'll fill out answer sheets with a pen.

Pattern of Examination: There are two papers in total. Both papers consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions. There's no break between papers.

Paper I: It carries 100 marks with 50 questions. This paper assesses your teaching/research aptitude, focusing on reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.

Paper II: It carries 200 marks with 100 questions. This paper is based on the subject you've selected and evaluates your domain knowledge.

Subject and Syllabus: You can find the list of subjects and their codes in Appendix II. The syllabus for all subjects can be downloaded from the UGC website, and the NTA won't provide a copy to candidates.

Medium of Question Paper: The question paper will be available in English and Hindi, except for language papers. You need to carefully choose the medium while filling out the application form, and once chosen, it cannot be changed.

Marking Scheme:

Each question carries two marks.

• There's no negative marking for incorrect responses.
• No marks are awarded for unanswered questions.
• If a question is found to be incorrect or ambiguous, only candidates who attempted it and chose one of the correct answers will get credit.
• If a question is dropped due to errors, candidates who attempted it will receive two marks.

Remember, there's no penalty for wrong answers, so choose the most appropriate option for each question. Make sure to prepare thoroughly and approach the exam with confidence!

UGC NET June 2024 Eligibility criteria

If you're planning to appear for the UGC-NET June 2024 exam, it's crucial to understand the eligibility criteria:

Qualifying Examination:

• General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates need at least 55% marks in their Master's degree or equivalent from recognized universities.
• Other categories like OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender need a minimum of 50% marks.

Candidates currently pursuing or awaiting results of their Master's degree can also apply provisionally but must complete their degree within the specified time frame.

Ph.D. Admission:

Those aiming for 'Admission to Ph.D. Only' must complete their Master's degree within one year from the date of the NET result with the required percentage of marks.

Relaxation and Equivalence:

• Third gender candidates enjoy the same relaxation in fee, age, and eligibility criteria as SC/ST/PwD categories.
• Ph.D. degree holders before September 1991 get a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks.
• Candidates with foreign degrees must ascertain their equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

Bachelor's Degree:

• Candidates with a 4-year undergraduate degree need a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent for eligibility.
• Those in the last semester/year of a 4-year Bachelor's program may apply provisionally, but they must fulfill requirements within the specified time frame.

Subject Choice:

• You're advised to choose the subject of your Post-Graduation. If your subject isn't listed, you may opt for a related subject.

If you're preparing for the UGC-NET exam, it's important to heed the following instructions:

Eligibility Determination: Your eligibility for NET hinges on your performance in both papers. However, if you qualify exclusively for 'Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.' or 'admission to Ph.D. only,' you won't be considered for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

Junior Research Fellowship: JRF awardees are eligible for UGC fellowship schemes, provided they secure placement in universities, IITs, or institutions. UGC NET June 2024 Age limit and relaxation

UGC NET June 2024 Reservation

• Type of identification (e.g., Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID).
• Qualifying degree certificate or last semester marks sheet.

• Code of NET subject, post-graduation subject, and course.

UGC NET June 2024 Admit Card

For UGC-NET June 2024, the Admit Card will be issued provisionally, subject to the candidates meeting the eligibility criteria. Here's how the process works:

Downloading the Admit Card:

• Candidates must download their Admit Card from the NTA website and ensure they appear for the examination at the designated center, date, shift, and time as indicated on the Admit Card.
• No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination center on a date and time other than what is specified in their Admit Card.
• In case a candidate faces difficulty in downloading the Admit Card, they can contact the NTA Help Line or write to NTA for assistance.
• Candidates should carefully read the instructions provided on the Admit Card well in advance of the exam day and follow them during the examination.

Handling Discrepancies:

If there's any discrepancy in the particulars or photographs/signatures on the Admit Card and Confirmation Page, candidates should immediately contact the Help Line for resolution. However, candidates should still appear for the examination with the downloaded Admit Card, and NTA will address the issue later.

Important Points to Note:

• Admit Cards will not be sent by post; candidates must download them from the NTA website.
• Duplicate Admit Cards will not be issued at the examination center under any circumstances.
• Candidates should not alter the Admit Card in any way and are advised to preserve it in good condition for future reference.
• Admit Cards will not be issued to candidates with incomplete applications or those who do not meet the eligibility criteria.
• The issuance of Admit Cards does not imply acceptance of eligibility, which will be verified at subsequent stages of the admission process.
• While the Aadhaar number is one form of identification, it's not mandatory. Candidates can also use other valid government identity numbers.

UGC NET June 2024 Conduct of Exam:

Candidates should carefully review the instructions on the Admit Card before heading to the examination center.

• They must bring a printed copy of the Admit Card, a passport-size photograph (matching the one uploaded during the application), and a valid photo ID for verification.
• Candidates must report to the examination center two hours before the exam starts for registration and frisking.
• It's essential to adhere to the instructions on the Admit Card and take their designated seats promptly.
• Candidates should ensure they receive the correct question paper according to their opted subject.

 UGC NET June 2024 Answer Key

After you've completed the UGC-NET June 2024 exam, NTA will post the Provisional Answer Key(s) and the question paper you attempted on their website. You'll find the exact date for this display on the NTA's official website. Typically, the Provisional Answer Key(s) will be available for viewing for a period of two to three days.

If you wish to challenge any answer key, you'll need to do so online and pay a processing fee of Rs. 200/- per answer key challenged. Remember, this fee is non-refundable. Only challenges submitted within the specified timeframe and through the designated link will be considered. Challenges made without proper justification, evidence, or after the stipulated time period, as well as those submitted through any other medium, will not be entertained.

The decision of the NTA regarding the challenges will be final, and no further communication will be entertained. Additionally, the NTA won't individually notify candidates about the outcome of their challenges.

Subject experts will review all challenges received, and a final answer key will be released based on their evaluation. The result will be compiled using this final answer key. No complaints regarding the answer key(s) will be addressed after the declaration of the result/NTA Score for UGC-NET June 2024.

 UGC NET June 2024 Criteria of result

Here's how the procedure and criteria for declaring the UGC-NET June 2024 result will work for you:

• Step I: The number of candidates eligible for Assistant Professorship will be 6% of those who appeared in both papers of NET, based on their Master’s Degree or equivalent exam.
• Step II: Slots will be allocated to different categories as per the Government of India's reservation policy.
• Step III: To be considered, you must have appeared in both papers and obtained at least 40% aggregate marks for General/General-EWS category candidates, and at least 35% aggregate marks for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, and Third gender).
• Step IV: The number of candidates qualified in a subject for a particular category is determined by dividing the number of candidates who secured at least the minimum aggregate marks by the total slots allocated for that category.
• Step V: Slots for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) will be allocated among categories as per the reservation policy.

UGC NET June 2024 Normalization procedure

Here's how the normalization procedure for multi-shift papers will work for you:

a) Your raw marks obtained in different shifts/sessions will be converted to NTA Score (percentile). b) You can find detailed information on the NTA Score normalization procedure on the NTA website. c) If a subject test is conducted in multi-shifts, your NTA Score will be calculated based on your raw marks obtained in each shift/session. These scores will be merged for further processing. d) If the percentiles for different shifts are dissimilar, the lowest percentile will be the eligibility cutoff for all candidates in that category across all shifts. For example, if the 40% marks correspond to a percentile score of 78 in one shift and 79 in another, then all candidates with a percentile score equal to or above 78 in both shifts will be eligible in the General Category. This principle applies to determining eligibility cutoffs for other categories as well.
