Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as of January 1, 2025)

  • General Age Range: 18-36 years
  • Age Relaxation: 3 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making the effective upper age limit 36 years.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must possess the required educational and technical qualifications as specified in Annexure-A of the notice.
  • The qualifications must be from a recognized institution/university and should be obtained on or before the closing date of the application.

Salary

  • Chemical Supervisor (Research) and Metallurgical Supervisor (Research): Level 7, Initial Pay ₹44,900
  • Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant: Level 6, Initial Pay ₹35,400

Selection Procedure

The selection process consists of:

  1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I): General screening with questions on Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science.
  2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-II): Focused on the specific technical abilities required for the posts.
  3. Document Verification (DV)
  4. Medical Examination (ME)

Candidates will be shortlisted for the 2nd Stage CBT based on their performance in the 1st Stage CBT.

Exam Pattern

1st Stage CBT:

  • Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates)
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, General Science
  • Negative Marking: Yes, 1/3 mark deduction for each wrong answer.

2nd Stage CBT:

  • Duration: 120 minutes (160 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates)
  • Total Questions: 150
  • Subjects: General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry, Basics of Computers, Environment and Pollution Control, and Technical Abilities.
